The 21-year-old has become a key part of Antonio Conte’s back-three this season, having dislodged David Luiz from the starting XI.
He has a total of 22 appearances under his belt as Chelsea look to continue their fight for silverware on all fronts.
The Danish international arrived at Chelsea from Brondby in 2012.
He soon established himself within the Blues youth set-up, before signing his first professional contract in 2015.
Christensen has since gone from strength to strength after being loaned out to Bundesliga side Borussia Monchengladbach.
During his time in Germany, the young Dane became a regular for The Borussians, making 83 appearances in all competitions.
“It’s exciting, one of the things we are looking forward to,” said the youngster as Chelsea take on Arsenal in the first-leg of the 2018 Carabao Cup semi-final
“One of the things I am excited about with Chelsea is that every year we are competing for silverware, every title possible. It’s a great feeling and comes with playing for a great team, but it’s important to get across the line.
“I don’t think it will ever feel normal preparing for these big games. I just look forward to every game and what comes with it, but the big matches like this are the ones you want to play.
“I was at Wembley in 2015 to lift this trophy with the team, I got my debut in the competition that season, but it would mean so much more to go on and win it this season. I played a lot of games and am in the squad, so it I am sure it would feel a lot bigger to celebrate.”
