Nollywood actor, IK Ogbonna, has alleged that Chelsea were robbed in their Premier League match against Manchester United on Monday night.
In an outburst on Tuesday on Instagram, the 36-year-old claimed that the Premier League was rife with corrupt officials.
He noted key decisions by the referee and the video assistant referee which could have altered the game’s outlook.
Chelsea lost 2-0 to Manchester United, the third time the blues will be falling to the Red Devils this season.
“The level of corruption in the @premierleague is alarming,” IK said, “Man u was gifted a game last night by poor refereeing and stupid VAR decisions…. Let’s be honest here guys. 1. Maguire deserved a red card 2. Zouma’s goal was not a foul 3. Willian should have been given a free-kick not a yellow card what the hell is wrong with @premierleague referees.”
Two goals on either half from Anthony Martial and captain Harry Maguire helped United in the race for fourth-place finish.
Chelsea, however, had two goals ruled out by VAR decisions.
Substitute Kurt Zouma’s goal which had made it 1-1 was cancelled for a push by Cesar Azpilicueta on Brandon Williams, although replays showed United’s Fred put a hand on the back of Chelsea’s captain.
Olivier Giroud’s 76th-minute header was also ruled out because his foot was in an offside position as he moved to meet Mason Mount’s free-kick.
