Former chairman of the National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Prof Chidi Odinkalu, has shared a fake video allegedly showing the convoy of Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, driving against traffic.
Odinkalu, in a tweet on Wednesday, alleged that Mr Sanwo-Olu was not following in the example of his predecessors.

“For 8 yrs @tundefashola was governor of Lagos, he led by example. He never drove against traffic. How does @followlasg get to such point of precipitous regression?!” Odinkalu wrote.
The 32-second video begins with a female voice alleging that Sanwo-Olu’s convoy was driving against traffic because the governor refused to fix bad roads.
“He couldn’t even spend 30 minutes in the traffic and this is what we go through every day,” the woman said.
In response, Sanwo-Olu’s chief press secretary, Gboyega Akosile, debunked the video, saying it was not the governor’s convoy.
He added that the vehicles were now being investigated.

Mr Akosile assured that Sanwo-Olu’s convoy had never driven against traffic nor used sirens.
He warned that social media users should confirm reports before making claims.
“This is not Governor Sanwo-Olu’s convoy. In fact, we’re investigating these vehicles. Please note that Governor Sanwo-Olu’s convoy has never driven against traffic, nor used sirens. It will be good that we confirm claims on social media before making remarks. Thank you,” he wrote.
