Former chairman of National Human Rights Commission (NHRC), Prof. Chidi Odinkalu, has been attacked for criticising the welcome given to Zainab Ahmed on her return as minister of finance.
Mrs Ahmed was among ministers who were inaugurated on Wednesday following the end of the Presidential Retreat for ministers-designate, presidential aides and other top government functionaries at the State House in Abuja.

Majority of the re-appointed members of President Muhammadu Buhari’s first term cabinet retained their posts, one of which is Ahmed.
The finance minister was welcomed with fanfare by the staff shortly after her inauguration.
Odinkalu said in a tweet late Wednesday that the staff cannot be relied on to give Ahmed objective views.
“These are #Nigerian Civil Servants welcoming a reappointed Minister (Finance) to her beat in Abuja today. How can these ppl possibly be relied upon to give this poor Minister independent advice & objective? She’s in real trouble!” he said.

Nigerians have criticised him, saying he must have treated his subjects badly during his time at NHRC.
