Former Miss South Africa finalist, Chidimma Adetshina, has made a plea to the public for votes as she vies for the title of Miss Universe Nigeria.
The model shared a video on Instagram on Monday, captioning it, “Please vote for me to be the next Miss Universe Nigeria 2024.
“When we value diversity and celebrate our differences we become acceptive of one another which allows us to be inclusive.
“We all deserve a seat at the table so let’s work together to create a stronger community to benefit everyone without excluding anyone.”
In the video shared, she made a formal introduction of herself before saying, “I am representing Taraba State.
“As a woman who has faced adversity, I want to use my voice and my story, alongside the Miss Universe Nigeria platform, to promote inclusion and acceptance.
“I also want to educate people on the power of diversity to build a stronger community that benefits everyone.”
Last week, Adetshina accepted an invitation from the Silverbird Group to participate in the Miss Universe Nigeria competition after withdrawing from the Miss South Africa contest.
The 23-year-old made the decision to withdraw after being targeted by xenophobic attacks and controversy surrounding her nationality.
Now, Chidimma Adetshina is competing as contestant number 25, representing Taraba State in her quest for the Miss Universe Nigeria crown.
