The Lagos State High Court sitting at the Tafawa Balewa Square could not begin the trial within trial on Thursday of Chidinma Ojukwu, the main suspect in the murder of the chief executive officer of Super TV, Usifo Ataga, due to the absence of a prosecution witness.
Ms Ojukwu, a student of the University of Lagos, is standing trial alongside Adedapo Quadri and her sister, Chioma Egbuchu.
The case could not continue as one of the police officers, ASP Funke Madeyinlo, who was part of the team that arrested and interrogated Ojukwu, was absent from court.
Deputy director of public prosecutions Adenike Oluwafemi apologised to the court and said the witness called to inform her that she was out of jurisdiction and asked the court for an adjournment.
Justice Yetunde Adesanya adjourned the case till November 15 for continuation of trial.
