Writer Chimamanda Adichie has lost her mother Grace Adichie barely five months after the burial of her father, Prof. James Adichie.
Mrs Adichie died at the age of 78 on Monday in Awka, Anambra State.
“It was very sudden and we are devastated,” a family spokesperson said.
The source also confirmed that burial arrangements will be communicated to the public soon.
Prof. Adichie died in June 2020 at the age of 88 and was buried in his hometown, Abba, in Njikoka Local Government Area of Anambra State on October 9, 2020.
He was the first professor of statistics in Nigeria.
Mrs Adichie is survived by her six children and other relatives.
