Multiple award-winning novelist, Chimamanda Adichie, on Saturday showered praise on Nobel Laureate, Prof. Wole Soyinka, describing him as a guiding light.
The 41-year-old saluted Soyinka for his courage in an Instagram post that has received many positive comments.
The ease with which you inhabit your skin, speaking your mind, unburdened by
“Your kindness and humour. Your utter coolness.
“The urgent, terse poetry of The Man Died, the exuberance of Ake; your faith in possibility, in adventure, in progress
“Yes indeed, ‘the mindless ones are neither the total sum nor the true face of humanity.’
“Thank you, Prof,” she wrote.
Chimamanda came to limelight for her first novel titled Purple Hibiscus, published in 2003.
She has gone to write others including Half of a Yellow Sun and Americanah.
