Nigeria forward, Chinedu Obasi, has finally ended almost one year wait for a new club after being released by German side, FC Schalke 04, last summer.
The 30-year-old joins 11-time Swedish champions, AIK Fotboll, on a short term deal for the 2016/17 season.
Obasi, struggled to secure a new team after his contract with Schalke expired – enduring miserable trials at Sunderland, Hamburg, Besiktas and most recently Lillestrom.
His three years at Veltins-Arena was marred by persistent injuries which subjected the former Lyn Oslo forward to just 10 starts in Bundesliga with three goals.
But it was prior to his move to Schalke that his true potentials exploded.
This was at another German side, Hoffenheim, where he netted 25 times in 91 games.
The player who is capped 18 times by Nigeria reckons his latest move is a huge opportunity to revive his already stuttering career.
“It’s a great opportunity and also a great honour for me to be part of this fantastic club,” Obasi told the club’s website.
“I’m really looking forward to being a part of the AIK family and get to play in front of the fans,”
Obasi who has been handed the No. 7 jersey will make his debut this weekend if his International Transfer Certificate is received by the Swedish Football Association.
AIK ended third last season in the Swedish league and will be hoping on the former Enugu Rangers man to surpass that feat.
