Forgotten Super Eagles forward, Chinedu Obasi, is on trial at English club, Bolton Wanderers.
Phil Parkinson’s side is in dire need of attacking reinforcement, currently 19th on the Championship standings.
The ex-Schalke 04 star be given another chance to earn a deal at Wanderers when he turns out for the development squad at Crewe on Tuesday.
Obasi, who scored in his first appearance against Burnley last week, is on the lookout for a new club after leaving Swedish side AIK.
Signed for more than £8million during the course of his career, spent largely in Germany with the likes of Schalke and Hoffenheim, the striker is said to want a deal until the end of the season at Wanderers.
Obasi, who has also played in Norway and China and trialled with Sunderland in 2015, will feature for David Lee’s side at the Alexandra Stadium as they look to consolidate their position at the top of the Professional Development League North table.
Wanderers added free agent Jan Kirchhoff to their ranks last week and the German midfielder could also be used at Crewe to improve his match fitness.
Should the Nigerian make the move, he will join an elite of his compatriot to have played for the club.
That group is spearheaded by the club’s former skipper, Austin Jay-Jay Okocha.
