Actress Chioma Akpotha has announced that she will be honoured with an outstanding performance award at the 2023 Africa International Film Festival (AFRIFF) in Lagos for her role in Jadesola Osiberu’s Amazon Prime hit Gangs of Lagos.
The 43-year-old who could not hold back her excitement, made the announcement in an Instagram post on Saturday with behind the scenes moments from the movie.
Chioma also expressed gratitude to the organisers of the award for the recognition.
“WHAT AN HONOR! I’m being honored by AFRIFF and MTN at the 12th award ceremony happening on the 11th Nov for outstanding performance for my role in GANGS OF LAGOS What an honor! #GangsOfLagos will forever be one of my favorite projects. The actress received global praise for her performance in the film as she stole the spotlight.
Gangs of Lagos also featured Tobi Bakre, Adesua Etomi, Bimbo Ademoye, Tayo Faniran, Mr Macaroni, Iyabo Ojo Yvonne Jegede, OlarotimiFakunle and Eniola Badmus.
