Actress Chioma Chukwuka was visibly absent at the 2024 Africa Magic Viewers Choice Awards (AMVCA) after dragging the organisers over her invitation.
Chioma called out the event organisers on her Instagram story before the award ceremony on Saturday in which she claimed she was called to come pick up her ticket to the event.
Chioma said she felt disrespected and ended the call but the representative called back.
The 44-year-old said she did not pick the call because she was “visibly upset and irritated by what had just been told over the phone” and her attention was needed on a movie set.
“l am APPALLED by the DISRESPECT and total DISREGARD by@africamagic for industry practitioners! THE NERVE!
“I, CHIOMA CHUKWUKA with over 25 YEARS of HARDWORK and DEDICATION to Nollywood ..My Invite is ready for pick up ??! What an absolute shame!” Chioma added.
The actress, however, did not show up at the event on Saturday.
It is not clear whether Chioma declined attending the event because the invitation was not eventually sent to her.
Chioma was nominated for best actress in a comedy category at the 2017 AMVCA for her role in Wives on Strike and best supporting actress for her role in Omo Ghetto: The Saga at the 2022 AMVCA.
