Reality star and actress Venita Akpofure has weighed in on the Chrisland child sex scandal, saying that rape is not always brutal and forceful.
The Big Brother Naija ex-housemate said this in an Instagram post on Monday, adding that abusers come in many forms.
According to Venita, Sex with a minor whether consensual or not is legally considered statutory rape.
“Sex with a minor whether consensual or not is legally considered statutory rape. Not all rape is with sheer brute and physical force. It is very messed up that generally from the comments I’m seeing, most people assume rape means assault with brute force. Abusers come in many forms and many devices which don’t require sheer force e.g grooming, substances etc.
In another post, Venita wrote: “As a parent in this country, it is becoming increasingly alarming the severity and frequency of tragic tales from reputable schools that charge millions and millions for fees.
“All families involved will be in my prayers. I don’t know what is it with these schools and covering up flags deep issues.”
