Singer Cobhams Asuquo has given a second thought about returning to Nigeria after using a braille menu to place his order in a Kenyan restaurant.
In a video posted on Instagram on Tuesday, the 40-year-old could be seen calling out the menu in excitement.
Cobhams said he was given the braille, which is a form of written language for blind people, wondering while most Nigeria restaurants do not do the same.
Captioning the video, he wrote: “So I came to a restaurant in Kenyan and these guys gave me a braille menu. Nigeria how far? Am I coming back lai dis?”
Reacting in the comment section of the post, an Instagram user who goes by the name Nurse_oreoluwa claimed that most companies in Nigeria use the braille menu.
She wrote: “Most company use it, maybe you haven’t worked in those areas being used. Most people who has (sic) it and also people will ask for it. It’s everywhere in Nigeria.”
“I’m sorry but it’s not everywhere in Nigeria. We are currently out here trying to fight for inclusion and accessibility. So please let your statement at least represent the true nature of things for the sake of true progress. I’m a well travelled blind Nigerian and your current position is not correct Thanks,” Cobhams replied.
Cobhams married Ojuolape Olukanni on December 2, 2010.
They have two sons together.
