A High Court in Benin, Edo State on Tuesday granted bail to comedian Chukwu Emeka aka Broda Mike following his arrest by the Department of State Services (DSS).
Lawyer Matthew Osa-Oghogho announced the release of the vlogger in a Facebook post.
“Today, the High Court of justice sitting in Benin released Comedian Emeka Chukwu Aka #BrotherMike to bail. He was arrested by the Department of State Services and accused of inciting the Public.
“The court agreed with our submission that the application for the remand of Mr. Chukwu is unmeritorious and therefore admitted him to bail. We stand for justice always and at all times!” He wrote.
Earlier in the day, a lawyer identified as Mr Obo told PUNCH that the DSS got a court order to remand Broda Mike till July 7.
Broda Mike, who is based in Edo, makes skits on social media highlighting bad governance and insecurity.
