A promising Nigerian comedian, Chinedu Paul, better known as Think Twice, was lynched in the early hours of Sunday by vigilantes in Ikorodu, Lagos who took him as a member of the dreaded Badoo cult.
A Facebook post by a friend of deceased, Ajibola Oluwafemi, disclosed that the comedian was one of the suspects set ablaze after their SUV broke down in the Odogunyan area of the town.
The comedian was said to be coming from a show by popular entertainment personality, IK Osakioduwa, when his vehicle broke down.
He was accosted along with two others by vigilante members who refused their explanation that they were not Badoo cult members.
The death of the comedian highlights the fear of the police and others who have condemned the mob action carried out on suspected members of the group.
“Government is on top of the situation and we like to use this medium to caution the people to desist from jungle justice,” Lagos police spokesman, Olarinde Famous-Cole, said in a statement on Sunday.
