The visit of former President Olusegun Obasanjo on Monday to the first lady Senator Oluremi Tinubu in Lagos has generated controversy on social media.

The first lady’s spokesperson Busola Kukoyi shared a photo of the visit on social media, stating that Obasanjo came to felicitate Mrs Tinubu on the occasion of the Sallah celebration.

She wrote: “Former President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria Chief Olusegun Obasanjo and the First Lady of the Federal of Nigeria Senator Oluremi Tinubu after receiving the Former President who came felicitating on the Sallah Celebration on Monday 17th June.”

The first lady also shared a photo of the visit on her own social media pages.

Obasanjo’s visit to her came days after he was reportedly seen wearing a cap many believe bore Tinubu’s broken shackles insignia.

The visit has raised concerns among some netizens that the former Nigerian leader may have joined President Bola Tinubu’s camp after initially favouring Peter Obi during the presidential election last year.
