The Federal Government has cut down costs in its budget for 2020 as the country begins to feel the effect of the coronavirus pandemic which has caused a sharp fall in global oil price.
According to a source in the National Assembly, the Minister of Finance, Zainab Ahmed, and the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Mele Kyari, are meeting with the leadership of the National Assembly.
Documents seen show a 20 per cent cut on capital projects across ministries, departments and agencies to the tune of N312,820,542,675.
