Nigeria has recorded 196 new cases of the coronavirus disease (COVID-19), the Nigeria Centre for Disease Control has said.
The agency tweeted early Thursday saying the country’s total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases was now 1,728.
Of the 196 new cases, 87 are in Lagos, 24 in Kano, 18 in Gombe, 17 in Kaduna, 16 in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), and 10 in Katsina.
Others are eight in Sokoto, seven in Edo, six in Borno, and one each in Yobe, Ebonyi, and Adamawa.
According to the NCDC, there are now 307 persons who have recovered from the disease and have been discharged across the country, while 51 persons have died of it.
As of Wednesday, 34 states and the FCT have reported cases of the coronavirus.
