Residents of 15 Fagbile Street, Surulere, Lagos State have discovered the decomposing corpse of a tenant in the building.
Chichi Okechukwu was found dead on the floor after a friend came to check on her on noticing she had been absent from work for a while.

The friend, who was not named, alerted neighbours when she observed a foul smell coming from the deceased’s room, Punchng.com reported on Wednesday.
It was initially assumed that the foul smell was from a dead rat somewhere around the compound.
The deceased’s room was closed from inside, prompting neighbours to call the landowner’s attention who in turn alerted the police on October 17.

One of the neighbours, Adekunle Adejumo, expressed shock at the incident, saying he returned from delivering goods to his clients only to find people mourning Okechukwu’s death.
Lagos police spokesman, Bala Elkana, when contacted said the corpse had been deposited in the Mainland Hospital’s morgue for investigation.
