A Yola High Court on Friday dismissed a case brought by governorship candidate of Movement for the Restoration and Defence of Democracy (MRDD), Eric Theman, seeking cancellation of Adamawa governorship election.
Mr Theman had prayed the court to cancel the election and order the Independent National Electoral Commission (EFCC) to conduct fresh polls because his party’s logo was omitted by INEC on the ballot papers.
Justice Abdulazeez Waziri ruled that the case lacked evidence. He said the claimant did not tender any proof to show that his party’s logo was omitted on the ballot papers.
The suit had resulted in a temporary suspension of supplementary governorship election in the state until the injunction was lifted on Tuesday by the court.
Umar Fintiri of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has been declared winner of the election.
