A Federal High Court in Lagos, on Wednesday, fixed May 22, for further mention of a suit filed by former first lady, Patience Jonathan, challenging a ‘No Debit Order’ placed on her accounts.
Mrs Jonathan had filed the suit in 2016 to challenge the order placed on four Skye Bank (now Polaris Bank Ltd) accounts loaded with $9.8 million.
Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) was named first defendant, Polaris Bank Ltd is second, Pluto Property and Investment Company Ltd is the third respondent.
The fourth is Seagate Property Development and Investment Company Ltd, while the fifth is Trans Ocean Property and Investment Company Ltd.
The former first lady wants the court to declare that she owns the money in the accounts and so should have access to it.
The said money was opened in the names of the third, fourth and fifth defendants.
Counsels for all respondents were present in court on Wednesday except that of the fifth defendant.
