An Abuja Division of the Federal High Court has issued a bench warrant for the arrest of leader of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Nnamdi Kanu.
Justice Binta Nyako gave the order on Thursday and also revoked the bail earlier granted to Mr Kanu.
Nyako said the order was necessary because Kanu had failed to appear in court after his bail was granted in April 2017.
The court also ruled that trial must continue and that a fresh date for continuation be given by parties even in Kanu’s absence.
Kanu jumped bail after he escaped from the country. He has appeared in several videos criticisng President Muhammadu Buhari and the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC).
The judge adjourned the case until June 18.
