A Magistrate Court in Ilorin, Kwara State has ordered that Salaudeen Waliu, a 400-level student of the University of Ilorin (UNILORIN), be remanded in the Federal Correctional Centre, Ilorin.
Mr Waliu is accused of assaulting a female lecturer Rahmat Zakariya of the department of microbiology on November 11, 2021.
The court heard last Thursday that Waliu consumed hard drugs before going to the lecturer’s office.
He reportedly banged her table, shouting that the lecturer should give him mark for the industrial training he did not participate in.
The police’s first information report showed that Waliu punched the lecturer severally when she rejected his demand.
Magistrate Muhammed Ibrahim adjourned till November 26 for mention.
