Court of law

An Iyaganku Magistrates’ Court, Ibadan, on Monday, ordered the remand of one Ibrahim Abiala,19, in custody, in a murder case.

The court ordered that Abiala, whose address was not provided, should be held in the Correctional Centre.

The Magistrate, Mrs. Olasinmibo Sanusi-Zubair, who did not take the plea of the defendant for want of jurisdiction, directed the police to send the case file to the Director of Public Prosecution (DPP) for legal advice.

She, thereafter, adjourned the case until April 24, for mention.

Earlier, the Prosecutor, Insp Olagoke Adegbenro, told the court that the defendant committed the offence on March 26, at 8.30 p.m., at the Aleshinloye market area of Ibadan.

He alleged that the defendant unlawfully caused the death of one Musa Mohammadu by stabbing him in his back.

Adegbenro said that the offence contravened Section 319 of the Criminal Laws of Oyo State, 2000.
