A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has granted an order of interim injunction restraining President Muhammadu Buhari and the Attorney General of the Federation (AGF), Abubakar Malami, from removing the Chief Justice of Nigeria, Walter Onnoghen.
Justice Inyang Ekwo made the ruling on Monday stopping Messrs Buhari and Malami from removing Mr Onnoghen from office pending the hearing and determination of the suit filed by Action Peoples Party.
The judge ordered all parties to maintain the status quo ante, and adjourned the hearing of the motion on notice to January 29.
