Still licking the wound from his withdrawal from the #OneVoiceNigeria protest, 2face Idibia, on Tuesday uploaded a video on Instagram to thank Nigerians who, despite his volte-face, went ahead with the demonstration on Monday.
“I watched with tears in my eyes as Nigerians came out,” he said in the video recorded without his usual dark glasses.
While thanking Nigerians for speaking in unity on different platforms, he noted that no voice is louder than the other.
Mindful of the negative remarks made about his non-participation despite all the hype created before the match, he added that “I watched as many people called me a coward, but I am happy I am a coward that spoke up and I will always continue to speak up.”
He also added: I am grateful for every that lent their voice when I lost mine. You guys are the real heroes.”
The #OneVoiceNigeria protest was promoted by the singer with the hashtag #istandwith2baba trending for days.
He eventually backed out, explaining that it was due to security reasons and public safety.
This led to so many criticisms and controversies with the likes of CharlyBoy and Gordons criticising him harshly.
