Businessman Cubana Chief Priest has called on Lagosians to vote Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu of the All Progressives Congress (APC) for a second term in office.
This is coming after the businessman threw his weight behind the presidential candidate of the Labour Party Peter Obi in the build-up to the February 25 poll, ignoring the APC’s Bola Tinubu who eventually was declared winner.
During his campaign for Obi, Cubana Chief Priest, who describes himself as a celebrity barman, promised to sponsor the education of a boy pictured in front of Obi’s vehicle during a campaign rally in Lagos.
On February 13, he posted a picture of the boy on Instagram holding his bank account detail and urged the public to make donations for the boy to return to school.
He said, “Grace Found Him, Please Help Take Yusuf Out Of The Streets, He Is Too Young To Be A Truck Pusher & Doing Offloading Jobs. Let’s Sow A Seed Of Faith For His Transformation As We Work, Pray & Hold For The Transformation Of Nigeria With Peter Obi. No Amount Is Too Small His Account Is There In His Hands. Peter Obi Is Coming. It Pays To Be Obident.”
Seven days later, he gave an update that he had enrolled the boy in school.
However, Netizens were surprised when Cubana Chief Priest on Sunday began campaigning for Sanwo-Olu despite Obi’s call for his supporters to vote the LP’s governorship candidate in Lagos, Gbadebo Rhodes-Vivour, on March 11.
On Monday, Cubana Chief Priest, a protégé of Obi Cubana, posted a picture of himself standing beside the governor and imploring Lagosians to vote the incumbent.
He wrote, “A Good Leader Is A Person Who Takes A Little More Than His Share Of The Blame And A Little Less Than His Share Of Credit. @jidesanwoolu Has This Four Essentials Of Leadership: Humility, Clarity, Courage & Accessibility. Re-elect @jidesanwoolu Our Guy, It’s Time For Finishing Touches. In Lagos State Vote APC.”
