A senior officer of Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has been stung to death while on patrol duty.
The officer, identified as Abba Abubakar, was stationed at Seme customs command along Ashipa axis of Badagry, Lagos.
A statement on Wednesday by the spokesperson of Seme customs command, Saidu Abdullahi, said Mr Abubakar died on Tuesday.
“With sadness and deep sorrow, the Seme Area Command announces the death of our colleague CSC Abba, A.
“The sad event occurred yesterday due to an attack by a swarm of bees around Ashipa axis, Lagos- Badagry Express way.
“He has never failed to report at his duty post daily. We regret to lose such a gallant officers.
“We pray that Allah (SWT) shower His mercy and grant him the highest level of Jannah, and give his family the patience and fortitude to bear this irreparable loss. Aameen,” the statement said.
The Yobe State-born officer has been buried in accordance with Islamic rites.
He is survived by his wife and children.
