Nigeria Customs Service (NCS) has promoted the area controller of Apapa command, Bashir Abubakar, who rejected a bribe of $420,000 (N151, 590,600) last November.
Mr Abubakar was promoted to the rank of assistant comptroller general.
Abubakar rejected bribe offered him by drug traffickers to import 40 containers of Tramadol, an outlawed product.
He refused the bribe and seized the containers loaded with Tramadol and other pharmaceutical products with duty paid value of N7.3 billion.
Spokeperson of Apapa Customs Command, Nkiru Nwala, said Abubakar would be replaced by Aba Kura, Controller of Post Clearance Audit (PCA) unit.
