Cynthia Morgan in trouble as Benin prince petitions police

Singer Cynthia Morgan

Ezelekhae Ewuare, the prince of Benin Kingdom, has filed a petition against singer Cynthia Morgan amid claims that she has been arrested.

The petition was addressed to Funsho Adegboye, the Edo state commissioner of police, and submitted through Ewuare’s lawyers at Ekikhalo Chambers.

In the petition dated May 4, the Benin prince accused the 32-year-old of defamation, cyberstalking and harassment.

Ewuare claimed that the singer has been “desperately trying to contact” him against his will since 2020.

He alleged that Morgan called him “a wicked prince who was bewitching and oppressing her in her dreams”, while harassing him on different social media platforms.

Ewuare claimed she tried to contact him through various telephone lines, which he said he immediately blocked.

Ewuare’s lawyers pleaded with the commissioner of police to “apprehend and thoroughly investigate” Morgan.

The lawyers also urged the police to prosecute the singer, adding that she “must be cautioned from further trying to contact” the Benin prince.

“We are informed by our client that one Cynthia Ikponmwenosa Morgan (also known online as “Iamcmglobal” and “trulymadrina”) has been desperately trying to contact him against his wish. The said Cynthia Ikponmwenosa Morgan has gone as far as physically trailing our client to his workplace, and when she saw she was not getting the attention she so desperately seeks, she resorted to publishing lies, slurry, and other defamatory statements against him on her Instagram story sometime in 2020 and has continued such publications till date.

“The same offending material was picked up and republished by different blogs and news outlets all around the country. In the said publications, she has called our client a wicked prince who was bewitching and oppressing her in her dreams. We attach herewith pictures of the online posts and the various online blogs that picked it up,” the petition read in parts.

However, according to Leadership News, when contacted for a confirmation of her arrest, the state’s police public relations officer (PPRO), SP Chidi Nwabuzor, said he couldn’t confirm the arrest, adding that he has not been briefed on the matter.

“I am not aware of the arrest and I have not been briefed either,” he stated.
