Actress Dakore Egubson is set to join the league of filmmakers in Nollywood as she has announced her upcoming movie Blaqout which she wrote and produced.
The actress-turned filmmaker made the announcement in an Instagram post on Thursday.
Excited about the good news, Dakore bragged that the new movie is the first of its kind in Africa, she also said that she played a character different from what she is already used to.
“It’s been a very busy November for me so hers a quick update, with gratitude to God I’ve finished principal photography on my 1st (of many to come) feature film as a filmmaker/producer of “BLAQOUT” the movie @blaqoutthemovie and it’s been such a journey! Subsequently, you’ll be hearing a lot more about it but let me start by saying you have NEVER seen any movie like this coming out of Africa!!!!!
“You will see me play a character like NEVER before, I pulled out ALL the stops on this one and with a stellar host of actors I truly admire….ANTICIPATE oooo!” she wrote.
Set to premiere in 2022, the movie also features Jim Iyke, Tina Mba, Gideon Okeke, Ikechukwu and Dakore’s brother Timini Egbuson.
The 43-year-old started her career in 1999, she has since then featured in films like Fifty, The Set-Up, Cheif Daddy, Playboy, Emotional Cry, Silent Tears, Men do Cry and Isoken which earned her best actress award at the Africa Movie Academy Awards (AMAA).
