Actress Bukola Awoyemi, the wife of actor Damola Olatunji has lamented the tragic experiences she encountered the past few days following her husband’s arrest and the death of her cousin.
In an Instagram post on Wednesday, the Arugba star said that the past few days have been a roller coaster of challenges.
“On Monday I lost my dearest sweet cousin sister, still in the pains of her loss, ‘got a call that Hawtie @damolaolatunji was detained … was on the road till 1 midnight… woke up back to it … the hullabaloo is indescribable… but in all, we say thank YOU BABA.
“On behalf @damolaolatunji, myself and the entire family, we extend our immense gratitude to all, friends, fans and family… special gratitude to all our colleagues, great TAMPAN FAMILY, TGD , the TAMPAN president, Excos for the massive support, we feel so loved and honored. GOD bless you all in JESUS MIGHTY NAME AMEN,” she wrote.
Damola was arrested by the police after confronting some officers at Abule Egba, accusing them of extortion and harassment.
According to the police, the movie star was arrested for alleged incitement and assault of police officers.
The actor also made a video showing the police officers.
“Hello everyone, They are extorting people of their hard-earned money, making life hard for them. And this one had the guts to take my phone because I was recording them, all I said was let this man ride his bike by himself and he called me an animal. If only we can stand up for ourselves,” he said in the video.
He was, however, granted bail on Tuesday.
