Governor of Gombe State, Ibrahim Dankwambo, on Tuesday visited former President Olusegun Obasanjo, in Abeokuta, Ogun State for a closed-door meeting.
The visit came barely 24 hours after Obasanjo hosted Senate President Bukola Saraki on a similar mission.
Tuesday’s meeting, held at Obasanjo’s Presidential Library, is believed to be part of ongoing consultations by Dankwambo after he declared his intention to contest the 2019 presidential election on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).
The 56-year-old met with members of PDP board of trustees in Abuja on Monday to “formally inform” them of his aspiration to be president.
