The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) on Monday arrested Special Adviser on Media and Publicity to former President Goodluck Jonathan, Reuben Abati.
Abati was brought to the commission’s office in the afternoon and was interrogated over allegation of collecting an undisclosed sum from former National Security Adviser (NSA), Sambo Dasuki.
He spent Monday night in EFCC custody.
Dasuki is currently being tried by the anti-graft commission for his management of arms funds.
Abati ceased to be Jonathan’s spokesperson after the former president lost in the 2015 general elections.
With his arrest, the popular columnist joins former Minister of State for Defence, Musiliu Obanikoro, and former Director of Media and Publicity for the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Presidential Campaign Organisation, Femi Fani-Kayode, in EFCC custody.
