Former British soccer star, David Beckham, has been crowned People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2015.
The announcement was made Tuesday night during Jimmy Kimmel Live! where Beckham’s face was revealed behind a blank People magazine cover after audience members tried to narrow down who had been named the “Sexiest Man Alive”.
Beckham who has been an international sex symbol for nearly two decades, says he’s still flattered to be handed such accolade on People magazine’s 30th-anniversary.
“It’s a huge honour,” the 40-year-old Beckham told the magazine.
And his famous fashion designer wife, Victoria Beckham, approves, too, Beckham said.
“I would hope that she feels this way about me all the time anyway!” he said.
But the father of four insists he doesn’t think of himself as being all that hot.
“I never feel that I’m an attractive, sexy person,” Beckham told People, presumably with a straight face.
Chris Hemsworth was named People magazine’s “Sexiest Man Alive” for 2014.
Beckham had an illustrious football career, playing for mega-clubs such as Manchester United, Real Madrid, AC Milan, PSG and LA Galaxy in the USA for which he holds the appearance record for an outfield player.
He is the first English player to win league titles in four different countries: England, Spain, France and USA.
