Pop musician, David Adeleke, popularly known as Davido, will go head to head with Taylor Swift, David Guetta, J Balvin in the ‘Favorite Global Music Star’ category at the Nickelodeon 2019 Awards.
This is Davido’s second selection to represent Africa in the category that recognises one artist from different continents.
The awards ceremony, which will be hosted by DJ Khaled, is scheduled to hold in March 23.
Dj Khaled himself is up for three orange blimps, including favorite male artist and favorite collaboration for “No Brainer,” featuring Justin Bieber, Quavo and Chance the Rapper.
Organisers of the awards said a set of successful youths from various fields such as television, movies, music and social media, would be recognised.
Artistes to represent other continents include BlackPink from Asia, Troye Sivan from Australia/New Zealand, Europe’s David Guetta, Taylor, David Guetta, Taylor Swift from North America, J Balvin from Latin America and UK’s HKRVY.
Other nominees up for major awards include Cardi B, Ariana Grande, Maroon 5, Camila Cabello, Shawn Mendes.
The coveted favorite breakout artist category includes Billie Eilish, Cardi B, Dan + Shay, Juice WRLD, Kane Brown and Post Malone.
With this nomination, Davido has a chance to add to his growing list of accolades.
