Davido launches electric bike line

Afrobeats superstar Davido has unveiled his line of electric bikes in Africa, a project he says has been years in the making.

The 32-year-old made the announcement on Instagram on Tuesday, describing the venture as a movement toward generational wealth, sustainability and empowerment.

“Manifestation is spiritual,” Davido wrote.

“Years ago, I claimed 30 BG, but it wasn’t just about success – it was about purpose. Today, I’m transforming that vision into something bigger: generational wealth and ownership.”

The electric bike line, developed in partnership with Spiro, a leading player in Africa’s electric vehicle market, aims to provide a Made-in-Africa solution to transportation challenges across the continent.

The bikes are designed to empower motorcycle riders and promote sustainable transportation.

“This isn’t just about business,” Davido noted.

“It’s about creating a Made in Africa solution for Africa. Streams might belong to foreign labels, but this is how you flip the script – influence into equity, and visibility into ownership.”

Davido also emphasised the significance of Okada riders (motorcycle riders), acknowledging their role in spreading his music and story.

“These same Okada drivers, who have supported me throughout my career, are now at the centre of this vision. They moved my music, my name, and my story across every corner of Nigeria and Africa. Now it’s time to give back.”

The partnership with Spiro includes financing solutions for riders across Nigeria and Africa, enabling more individuals to own these stylish and sustainable bikes.

Davido teased the final product’s reveal and expressed gratitude to the Spiro team.

“Big shoutout to Tycoone and the Spiro team for the groundbreaking design. I can’t wait until we reveal the final product. Oh yeah, I put my people on.”

The bikes will be available in several African countries, including Nigeria, Ghana, Kenya, Rwanda and Uganda.

“This is more than a deal; it’s a statement – ownership, empowerment, and legacy in motion. Africa is not just catching up – we’re redefining what it means to lead,” Davido concluded.
