Sophia Momodu, socialite and mother of singer Davido’s daughter, Imade Adeleke, has fired back at a Snapchat user who speculated about her child’s confidence.
The exchange occurred on Wednesday when a follower named Chidera suggested that Imade might be insecure about her teeth.
“Why doesn’t she smile and laugh freely? It seems she’s insecure about her teeth. If my guess is right, she doesn’t have to be. She has a beautiful set of teeth,” the user wrote.
Sophia did not take the comment lightly.
In her response, she criticized those who make baseless assumptions about children, stating that such remarks were one of the reasons she limits her posts on her private Snapchat account.
“Honestly, this is why I don’t post more on my private snap, which has zero Nigerians on there, because you all are constantly projecting or talking smack about a child. It’s so irritating,” she wrote.
She explained that Imade, who is growing into her pre-teen years, was simply reacting naturally to her family’s playful singing and should not be subjected to unnecessary scrutiny.
Sophia ended with a strong statement, emphasizing that her daughter is full of confidence and does not need validation from online critics.
“She is Imade Adeleke, daughter of Sophia Momodu!! She’s doing fine and has had more confidence than most of you all since day zero! Back off my child with your fake comments and projecting!!!” she declared.
Sophia Momodu is Davido’s first baby mama.
Imade was born on May 14, 2015, making her Davido’s first child.
The singer has children with other women, including Amanda and Chioma Rowland, whom he married in 2023.
