Media entrepreneur Dayo Adeneye has lost his mother whom he described as Iya Kayode.
Adeneye announced her demise on Friday via Instagram, thanking her for raising him and his siblings well.
“Good night my Sweet Mother. Iya Kayode (Mama D1) has gone to rest and be with her maker. You Lived a Great Life and we your children are all the Better for it. Thank you Mum,” he wrote, praying in Yoruba that the young will live to bury their aged parents.
The former Ogun State commissioner also posted a photo of himself and her.
On February 19, D1 as he is fondly called shared on Instagram a photo of his mum on a hospital bed.
“Speedy recovery Mum,” he captioned the photo.
Commiserating with Adeneye on her death, actor Bolanle Ninalowo wrote in the comment section, “May God rest her gentle soul baba.”
Singer Skuki wrote, “May her gentle soul rest in peace.”
Dancehall singer Baba Dee, who lost his brother Sound Sultan in July 2021, said, “Condolences Baba Oloye may her soul rest in peace.”
Actress Chioma Akpotha said, “My prayers are with you.”
Singer Tony Tetuila prayed that her “beautiful soul” would rest in peace.
Actor Funsho Adeolu wrote, “I commiserate with you, brother. May her sweet soul rest in perfect peace.”
Femi Adebayo, Darey Art Alade, Laura Ikeji, Woli Arole and others also condoled with him.
