Dayo Amusa disables comments after being accused of copying Facebook post on Asake

Dayo Amusa

Actress Dayo Amusa has been accused by Canadian-based media and communications specialist, author and advocate for women’s and children’s rights, Esther Ijewere of copying and reposting her message about singer Asake without giving proper credit.

Ijewere took to her Facebook page on Saturday to call out the actress, stating: “Dear Dayo Amusa, You took my post from my Facebook page and shared it as your own on Facebook and Instagram without giving me proper credit.

“Please do the right thing and acknowledge my work. It’s important to respect and credit the original creator.”

The post in question was made during the ongoing controversy involving Asake and his father, who has accused the singer of abandonment while he battles a stroke he has had since 2022.

The father also claimed Asake neglected his alleged baby mama and daughter, Zinat.

In her original post, Ijewere reflected on Asake’s struggles, writing:

“I was looking for an image that reflected both my emotions as a child and his silent response to the ongoing saga…

“Some wounds cannot be healed by money, fame, or influence. True healing requires conscious effort from within… Rather than judge, I choose to send light and love to this incredible artist.”

Amusa later shared a post with similar sentiments on Instagram and Facebook, writing:

“When Asake covered his face in tattoos, I once remarked that he was either rebranding or masking a pain he wasn’t ready to confront… Fame doesn’t heal the wounds of parental rejection… Rather than judge, I choose to send love to this remarkable artist.”

After Ijewere’s complaint, Amusa deleted her Facebook post and updated her Instagram post by adding “#copied” while disabling the comments section.

A check by QEDNG on Sunday morning showed that she later enabled comments on the post.
