Singer D’banj has announced the signing of Tanzanian musician and dancer Feza Kessy to hi DB Records.
The 40-year-old made the announcement in an Instagram post on Friday.
“I present to you @fezakessy; FIRST LADY of @dbrecordsofficial,” he wrote.
Feza Kessy also announced on her Instagram page that DB records is her new family.
“To my friends, family and ninjas across Africa and the world, meet my new family @dbrecordsofficial @iambangalee,” she wrote.
The announcement was immediately followed with the release of a single titled Bless Me.
The video of the song was shot and directed by Clarence Peters.
D’banj on Thursday teased fans by posting a picture of Feza with on social media with her face covered.
He captioned the post “Can you guess who she is? Been a long time coming and in a few hours, you’ll be meeting the FIRST LADY of DB Records.”
Feza was runner-up in the 2005 Miss Tanzania beauty contest.
She also contested the 2013 Big Brother Africa reality TV show along with Nigeria’s Beverly Osu, Melvin Oduah and 23 others.
Feza takes over from Nollywood actress Tonto Dikeh has first lady of DB Records.
D’banj signed Tonto DB Records on June 13, 2014.
The actress had released songs like ‘Hi’, ‘Oti Ya’, ‘Itz Ova’ and ‘Crazically Fit’ before joining the former Mo’ Hits kingpin.
She would go on to release ‘Sugar Rush’ and ‘Ekebe’ before announcing her departure from DB records in March 2015.
Tonto admitted in an Instagram post in April 2021 that she was a terrible singer and would not forgive those who told her she could sing.
