Allied Peoples Movement (APM) candidate in the March 9 governorship election in Ogun State, Adekunle Akinlade, clocked 50 on Wednesday.
His wife and 2002 Most Beautiful Girl in Nigeria (MBG), Chinenye Ochuba-Akinlade, sent him a birthday message on Instagram.

“Happy birthday to a true Hero of our time. God bless your new age and may you celebrate many more,” the University of Greenwich graduate wrote.
Anointed by immediate past Governor Ibikunle Amosun, Akinlade dumped the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) to contest the Ogun governorship election on the platform of the relatively unknown APM.

In spite of Amosun’s support, Akinlade lost the election to Dapo Abiodun of the APC.
The election tribunal dismissed his petition against Abiodun’s victory on September 14 for being incompetent and lacking in merit.
He has appealed the tribunal’s judgment at the court of appeal in Ibadan.
