Chairman of Ovation Media Group Dele Momodu has revealed that he and the late founder of Newswatch Magazine Dele Giwa grew up at an apartment in Ile Ife, Osun State but never met.
Mr Momodu stated this in an Instagram post on Friday in commemoration of the 37th anniversary of Giwa’s death.
Giwa was assassinated during the military era through a parcel bomb on October 19, 1986.
Paying tributes to the late editor, Momodu said he was a fanatical reader of Giwa’s column and he looked forward to meeting him.
“It is strange how MR DELE GIWA and I grew up at NO 2 ATIBA SQUARE, ILE-IFE, yet our paths never crossed… I was a fanatical reader of his breezy column,” he wrote.
