Ovation Magazine publisher Dele Momodu has replied a chieftain of the All Progressives Congress (APC) Joe Igbokwe who tackled him for criticising President Bola Tinubu’s handling of the economy.

Last week, Momodu got into a social media spat with former presidential media aides Doyin Okupe and Reno Omokri over their support for Tinubu’s administration in the face of hardship in Nigeria.

Igbokwe joined the conversation on Facebook, attacking Momodu and praising Omokri.

In a Tuesday post, he described Momodu as unfit to school Tinubu about economic policies, labelling the celebrity publisher a child who cannot teach the elderly tradition.

“When somebody like Dele Momodu who studied Yoruba language in the university and publisher of a defunct magazine, a social tabloid starts lecturing PBAT on Economic Policies I give up. Children do not teach the old tradition,” he wrote.

Momodu fired back in a Wednesday post on X, saying Igbokwe needed to be rescued from servitude.

“Is there no one who can rescue this old man from SERVITUDE? Such a PITY,” he wrote.

Meanwhile, on Tuesday night, Momodu shared on social media a note Omokri wrote about him in celebration of his birthday on May 17, 2023.

The message read, “Happy birthday Aare Dele Momodu, one of Nigeria’s finest. What would Nigerian society be like without you? You bring a civilised air of bonhomie that cuts through region and religion, and now your social gravitas is doing the same thing in Ghana, a country I have just returned from and one where your name is on the lips of many of their elites for good.

“More positivity has been attracted to Nigeria through your existence than through some of the many embassies and consulates we maintain. And now, your offspring are walking down your well-trodden paths. It is with great joy that my family and I say happy birthday to you.”

Momodu said, “My dear Aburo, RENO, I will forever treasure your kind words… I’ve lived in exile before and appreciate how tough it can be, no matter how wealthy you’re. At one point, I nearly fell into depression. Not many people can understand. Pls, keep calm. Everything is gonna be alright, by God’s grace…

“You will continue to be in my thoughts and prayers… I love you, unconditionally…:
