Publisher of Ovation Magazine, Dele Momodu, award-winning film director and actor, Kunle Afolayan, and others have celebrated the immediate past governor of Lagos State, Akinwunmi Ambode, on his 56th birthday.
Despite losing a second term bid, Momodu in a tweet on Friday said Mr Ambode’s best days were still ahead.
“Happy 56th Birthday to former Governor AKINWUNMI AMBODE of Lagos State… Your best days are still ahead…,” he wrote.
Mr Afolayan, who enjoyed partnership with the government during Ambode’s tenure, called the ex-governor a visionary leader.
“Happy birthday to a visionary leader. May the good lord continue to lead your path,” Afolayan wrote on Instagram with a picture of himself and Ambode.
Former commissioner for tourism, art and culture, Steve Ayorinde, called Ambode ‘a great boss and big brother’ and prayed for guidance in his steps.
“Happy birthday to a great boss and big brother, H.E Akinwunmi Ambode,” Mr Ayorinde said, “as you add another year today, may the Almighty strengthen you and guide your steps. You are a pride to your generation.”
Former chief press secretary to Ambode, Habib Aruna, in a message on Facebook thanked Ambode for the opportunity to serve.
Mr Aruna congratulated Ambode, whom many say might be on the cards for ministerial appointment, saying that his achievements in Lagos ‘cannot be erased.’
“Your achievements in four years cannot be erased and I will always cherish the honour and privilege of being part of the journey. For sure, the unquenchable verdict of history on your stewardship will be evident in the fullest of time. Happy birthday sir and best wishes!” Aruna said.
