Co-convener of Bring Back Our Girls movement Aisha Yesufu on Wednesday mocked the suspended deputy commissioner of police Abba Kyari after the latter deleted a Facebook post where he explained how he was linked to international fraud suspect Ramon Abass aka Hushpuppi.
Mr Kyari, a former head of the Police Intelligence Response Team (IRT), had given the explanation following his indictment last week in a report by the US Justice Department. The report alleged he was paid N8m to arrest and detain Hushpuppi’s alleged co-conspirator Chibuzo Vincent.
Kyari deleted the Facebook post on Tuesday night after many persons faulted the logic in his denial.
Mrs Yesufu joined in mocking Kyari over the leaks in his explanation.
She tweeted on Wednesday, “Abba Kyari’s intelligence is what is heading our intelligence unit and you wonder why terrorists criminals kidnappers and co are always winning. Kai!”
In another tweet she wrote, “Now you know why SARS Officers will ask you to transfer money from your account to them and when you report to @PoliceNG nothing is done.
“The brazenness annoys me as much as the crime! The impunity is what had Abba Kyari using his numbers to transact. See finish! Bloody nonsense!”
Kyari is being probed by a panel set up by the inspector general of police.
