Television host, Denrele Edun, on Wednesday, celebrated his 37th birthday covered in body art.
Denrele, who is known for his fashion style and personality, took to Instagram to share pictures of himself stating that he uses his art as a voice to inspire generations.
“Happy 37th birthday to me. There is only ONE of me and I stand vehemently to lend my VOICE through my ART and the pragmatic use of my CRAFT to consciously and radically inspire generations, both behind and before me.
“I painted my past on my body as the foundation of my future,” he wrote.
Denrele was born in Hamburg, Germany, to a Yoruba father and an Indian-Mauritius mother. He is the only son and has two sisters.
He grew up in Germany and came to Nigeria when he was five where he attended St Gregory’s College, Ikoyi and the University of Lagos where he studied English Education.
Denrele started his television career as an actor at eleven when he played a presenter/producer on Kid division 101 on NTA Network.
As an undergraduate at the University of Lagos he went into modeling, and after graduation, he joined Sound City as a TV presenter.
He has been recognized with awards including The Best TV Personality at the NEAs in New York, Dynamix Award for Best Youth TV Personality 2006/2007/2008, and The Future Award for Best Producer.
