A deputy inspector general of police in-charge of the Force criminal investigations department, Joseph Egbunike, has slumped and died in his office.
Police sources quoted by The Nation said the Anambra State indigene died on Tuesday night.
Egbunike was in charge of the special investigation panel constituted by the inspector general of police Usman Baba to investigate deputy police commissioner Abba Kyari over allegations of fraud.
Until his appointment as deputy IGP in late 2020, Egbunike had worked for several years as the head of the police finance department.
