Nollywood actor and director, Desmond Elliot, has been re-elected into the Lagos State House of A
The Returning Officer, Bolajoko Dixon-Ogbechi of the University of Lagos, declared him winner on Sunday, at the Surulere Local Government Collation Centre in Lagos.
Mr Elliot of the All Progressives Congress (APC) polled 15,357 votes to defeat his closest challenger, Benjamin Olasunkanmi, candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) who scored 3,628 votes.
“That Desmond Olusola Elliot of APC, having satisfied the requirements of the law and scored the highest number of votes, is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected,” Mrs Dixon-Ogbechi said.
Also, Shitta-Bey Oluwarotimi of Alliance for Democracy (AD) came third with 116 votes; Dawodu Oluwaseyi of Accord Party came fourth with 65 votes while Makanjuola Olaseni of YP came fifth with 59 votes.
The total number of registered voters in the constituency was 134,939, accredited voters were 20,340; 19,357 votes were valid while the total number of rejected votes was 973.
Desmond Elliot was attacked on Saturday during the governorship/state assembly election at his constituency after he allegedly refused to give a group of men money.
